inally, this club smasher from londons underground blog merchants venom and damage is due for release! having cut their teeth in londons gutter house bass movement with tracks like >love in the club<, >paradise slugs< and their >maximum carnage< mixtapes, venom and damage drop a new take on the uks house sound, in the form of >deeper<. its hard edged production, syncopated rhythms and anthem-like synths are recognisable from a mile off and are no doubt what has been causing such a stir in the clubs. if youve seen modeselektor any time in the past 12 months, chances are youve gone nuts to this track – so big, the guys included it as a focal point of their recent global live sets, and featured it on their resident advisor podcast. it has also and gained support from djs such as adam freeland, marcus nasty, martyn, brodinski, jackmaster, xxxy, julio bashmore and more. deeper becomes the first release on the ten thousand yen imprint, co-run by the uks rising star doc daneeka and its the man himself who delivers on remix duties, keeping the strong melodic feel, but giving it that more oppressive basement vibe.

desolat are proud to present basti grub. basti is a young talented german producer and label owner from the vibrant frankfurt area. his musical journey begins at the age of 14 with a birthday present - an roland mc303 - and since then basti grub shapes his musical vision day and night. he regularly sent beats and tracks to dice who tested them on the road. after a while we had a collection of tracks for a nice 12inch and we simply had to share this music with you: modern groovin house with influences from all over the place. the 12inch comes on colored vinyl with fine artwork by our man florian pohl and will remain a collectors item.

here comes the second release on the pattern repeat label. pattern repeat is a new music-project and label by kenneth christiansen, echocord & echocord colour label boss, and his partner dennis bøg aka resoe, running the baum label.the pattern repeat label will only contains productions from kenneth & dennis, and the music is focused on the modern berlin techno sound today, dubstep and dub-techno. pattern repeat will also release records on other labels, so far the first one is out on echocord colour. kenneth and dennis met eachother 8 years ago when they worked together in at that time famous copenhagen-record-shop >loud<, which closed 5 years ago. at that time dennis was more into broken beat, hip-hop and deep house. kenneth was already running the label echocord, and soon dennis started his label baum. the label baum is also like echocord, releasing dub-techno, and dennis started to release his own material as resoe, and builded up his studio the years after. 1 year ago we decided to try to do a new project together, working together in the studio, and now pattern repeat is born.

coloured vinyl! yoshihiro hanno aka radiq is a highly acclaimed musician and composer from japan, now living and working between tokyo and paris. he did releases on imprints like sub rosa, logistic and progressive form. hanno worked with the new japan philharmonic orchestra as well as arto lindsey or ryuichi sakamoto. besides he got international fame as a composer for different film scores including work with asian movie master hou hsiao-hsien and film director jia zhang-ke. radiq is since some time well aligned with the philpot camp. when he and soulphiction met again last year during the philpot tour in japan, co-operation was affirmed and tracks were committed. two of those funky nuggets are released here, one coming with a brilliant soulphiction remix treatment. >thanks for purchasing a real copy!!<
